GlanceVNC is designed for direct VNC and RDP connections. The app does not require a GlanceVNC account, does not run a remote desktop relay, and does not collect analytics in the app.
The GlanceVNC app does not collect personal data for the developer. The app stores the information you enter for saved VNC and RDP connections locally on your device and can sync saved profile metadata through your private iCloud database when iCloud is available.
Saved connection profiles may include a connection name, host or IP address, port, optional username, chosen protocol, sign-in method, remote computer profile, VNC sharing preference, approved RDP certificate fingerprint, creation date, and last connected date. These profiles are stored locally in the app's Application Support storage.
GlanceVNC caches thumbnail previews of remote desktops on your device for saved connections. If you choose a custom dashboard background, the app stores a resized copy on your device. These images are not included in CloudKit profile sync or sent to the developer. Deleting a saved connection removes its cached thumbnail. Choosing Use Default Background in Settings removes the saved custom background.
Saved profile metadata may sync through Apple's CloudKit service in your private iCloud database. This can include the connection name, host, port, optional username, protocol, sign-in method, remote computer profile, VNC sharing preference, approved RDP certificate fingerprint, creation date, updated date, and last connected date. VNC and RDP passwords are not included in synced profiles.
VNC and RDP passwords are stored in Apple Keychain and are eligible to sync between your devices through iCloud Keychain when it is enabled. Passwords are not stored inside connection profile files or CloudKit profile records, and are not sent to the developer.
GlanceVNC can browse the local network for Bonjour VNC services advertised as _rfb._tcp.. Discovery results are used in the app to help create a connection and are not sent to the developer.
When you connect, GlanceVNC opens a direct TCP connection to the host and port you configured. Authentication details are sent directly to that server as part of the selected protocol’s sign-in process. RDP certificates are checked automatically; when you approve a certificate in the app, its fingerprint is saved with the connection profile.
No. Remote desktop frames are displayed in the app during your remote session. GlanceVNC does not send your remote screen content, host list, usernames, or passwords to the developer.
No. The GlanceVNC app does not include third-party advertising, tracking SDKs, or in-app analytics collection.
You can delete saved connections in the app. Deleting a saved connection removes its local profile, deletes the associated password from Keychain, and syncs the deletion marker through iCloud when profile sync is available.

Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information about website activity, such as page views, referring sites, and browser and device information. This website analytics is separate from the GlanceVNC app and does not collect your remote desktop credentials or remote desktop content.
